Danity Kane No. 1 Again…(Video)

Looks like Diddy is dancing to the bank with reports rolling in that Danity Kane’s sophomore LP Welcome to the Dollhouse at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The first single of the new album “Damaged,” is an infectious track guaranteed to get you to the dance floor.
Less impressive from the Making the Band squad is the self titled debut from Day 26 (what a stupid name for a group) whose first single “Got Me Going” seems like a forced rush for commercial success. Sorry to say it, but these boys need a little more time to before their star will shine nearly as bright as Danity Kane. Check out the video for a comparison.
Can we say cheeeeeze! Haha!
No worries, I won’t be running out and purchasing either album but the disparate achievement between these two artists could make a good case study in what it takes to pull off a successful launch. Danity Kane spent countless hours and several seasons being honed and molded, while Day 26 was signed and thrown into the studio almost immediately. It’s quite apparent who was ready for the big time and who is still amateur.
Then there’s the question of that little thing called star quality. Collectively, I just don’t see if from the Day 26 boys. But individually a couple of them have the look and magnetism necessary to possibly make it big. I’m wondering why Diddy was so ready to give the green light on their album when it is probably obvious to everyone - including him - that these boys were not ready.
I wonder if Diddy is going to rework Day 26 and send them back to boot camp after their lackluster debut. Hopefully he’ll change that stupid name too.
